The integrated EU Project Sensors Anywhere (
SANY IP) invites people interested in standardized Sensor Web Technology to a three days workshop on
OGC Sensor Web Enablement (Münster, 20-22 March 2007).
The
SANY integrated project focuses on interoperability of in-situ sensors and sensor networks. SANY architecture will provide a quick and cost-efficient way to reuse of data and services from currently incompatible sensor- and data- sources.
The objective of
OGC Sensor Web Enablement is to allow all types of network and/or internet accessible sensors, instruments, and imaging devices which are discoverable, accessible and, where applicable, controllable via the World Wide Web to be integrated into arbitrary applications. The vision is to define and approve the standards baseline for "plug-and-play" Web-based sensor networks. OGC's Sensor Web Enablement initiative aims at standardizing the entire sensor web process: description of sensors and setup of sensor and measurement registries, discovery and sensor tasking mechanisms, and access of data observed by sensors.
The
SWE Training provides a two days in-depth introduction and discussion of the current specifications as provided by the OGC SWE Working Group, complemented by hands-on experience in the computer lab. On the third day of the training, the attendees shall be given the opportunity to discuss the future of the Environmental Sensor Networks with the key architects of the OGC Sensor Web Enablement and with the members of the SANY
IP.
