SANY Newsletter 9: Hands-on SensorSA training (Vienna, 11-12 February 2009)Dear reader,
The intention of the workshop is to teach the participants which SensorSA-compliant software components are available, and how to configure and deploy them. Furthermore, the workshop will show how OGC Sensor Web Enablement services are used within SensorSA, and how to build a complete SensorSA-compliant Environmental Monitoring Network. SensorSA training starts with introduction and explaining the relations between SensorSA, OGC SWE, GMES and INSPIRE. Remaining program concentrates on deploying, configuring and using the SensorSA software: SensorSA catalogue, security proxy, Cascading SOS, SensorSA Data Acquisition System, import/export scripts and various client applications. Full program of the SensorSA training is available on the SANY-IP site. LINK:SensorSA training program Training participants are expected to bring solid technical background, at least basic knowledge of OGC Sensor Web Enablement, good will, and a notebook with pre-installed Virtual Box software. LINK:Virtual Box download Training is organised by Austrian Research Centres GmbH. - ARC on behalf of the SANY consortium, with participation of the EIG, ETHZ, IITB and UBA. The training facilities are kindly provided by Austria's national weather service agency (ZAMG). Date: Fabruary 11-th and 12-th 2009, from 09:00 to 18:00 This event is founded by the Information Society and Media DG of the European Commission within the RTD activities of the Thematic Priority Information Society Technologies, and therefore free of charge for all participants within a limit of available places. SANY newsletter is the main external communication medium of the SANY project. Its aim is to inform the decision makers, fellow researches, producers and users of environmental information systems and all other people interested in the subject of environmental monitoring on the progress of the project and on events organized by the SANY consortium.
