SANY SP3: sensor fusion and decision support sub projectThe objective of SP3 is the specification and implementation of reusable and general-purpose, domain-independent Decision Support Services building blocks (services) suitable for rapidly building various types environmental risk management applications. Technically, this involves specification and implementation of the necessary architectural changes and extensions to existing SOA-based (Service Oriented Architecture) open service infrastructure for decision support to take into account standardised interfaces to in-situ data and heterogeneous sensor networks. The standardised interfaces, which are the outcome of SP2, are an input to the sub project. Due to their importance and great complexity, all the work related to fusion and modelling services has been separated from the rest of the “implementation and integration” (WP 3.3). An overview of the SP3 work packages is given below: WP3.0 Sub project management: This WP covers the technical management of the sub project and reporting. WP3.1 Technology review: This WP will provide a technology analysis and an overview of state-of-the-art concepts for all issues related to fusion technology and DSS. WP3.2 Implementation and Integration: This WP will first specify the extensions to a SOA distributed infrastructure to accommodate access to sensor networks and in-situ data using the interfaces defined in SP2 to realise a generic, application-neutral data decision support infrastructure. It will subsequently develop and refine the infrastructure design and implement it in two consecutive revisions. WP3.3 Fusion and Modelling: In this WP, a Generic data Fusion and Modelling Engine (GFME) will be developed. The GFME will specialise in the fusion of data at sensor, temporal, spatio-temporal and system levels. WP3.4 Consolidation: This WP will manage the interaction between SP3 and the other SPs (including communication and knowledge transfer), to ensure that the specification and development work is fully consistent with the overall goals of the SANY project, and the work which is done in the other sub projects. |
