SANY Newsletter 11: Final SANY Events
Dear reader,

With the end of the project nearing, it is time to show the results, discuss the "lessons learned", and think about the life after SANY IP. SANY consortium is pleased to invite you to following events:
OGC Interoperability Day in Darmstadt/Germany (September 30. 2009)
Final SANY Event in Linz/Austria (November 19. 2009)
Final public demonstrations of the "Air Quality"(Linz/Austria), "Marine Risks"(Falmouth/UK), and "Geo Hazards"(Lyon/France) applications
OGC Interoperability Day
On
September 30 2009, the Open Geospatial Consortium will organise the one day "Interoperability Event" to Feature Role of OGC in EU funded Projects. As one of the major EU-funded projects with strong OGCE components, SANY will actively participate at this event, and present the use of OGC SWE services in SANY pilot applications.

Final SANY Event and Pilot Demonstrations

This automn, SANY Partners will organise three public demonstrations of the Air Quality, Marine Risks and the Geo Hazards Pilots, as well as the final SANY event.
Final SANY event will be organised on November 19-th 2009 by AIT in Linz/Austria, with active participation of the key partners from all SANY sub projects. At this event, decision makers, researchers and technical managers interested in environmental management will be given a chance to discover the findings of the SANY project in a combination of presentations, live demonstrations, and in-depth discussions with SANY team members. The Programme includes:
Sensor Service Architecture (SensorSA) and its relationship to GMES, INSPIRE, ORCHESTRA, and OGC Sensor Web Enablement;
prototype implementation of the SensorSA services;
a framework for integration of fusion- and modelling- engines into SensorSA networks;
a security framework for access control & policy enforcement;
a web based platform for building decision support applications based on ESA SSE;
Those participants interested in INSPIRE/CAFE and Air Quality management will be also given a chance to see the prototype of the Austrian "Air Quality" pilot in action, and discuss the advantages and limitations of the SensorSA/OGC SWE based solutions within the context of INSPIRE/CAFE.
All participants will receive the first issue of the SANY book on “Open Service Architecture for Sensor Networks”.

In addition to the final SANY event and Air Quality Demonstration, the partners involved in "Marine Risks" and "Geo Hazards" Pilots will present the results of their work at two separate demonstrations:
October 26-28 2009: Demonstration of the "Barcelona" Geo Hazard Pilot at the annual "Hydro" conferences in Lyon/France. This demonstration concentrates on use of SensorSA and ad-hoc sensors to monitoring and predict the soil settlement and structural instabilities caused by tunel excavation in an urban environment.
December 02 2009: Demonstration of the of "Shellfish" Pilot in Falmouth/UK. This demonstration will concentrate on use of SensorSA, data fusion services, and mobile sensors for water quality prediction and early warning of the shellfish producers.
More information on these events is available on the SANY-IP web site.
